Candle Care
Rough top after burning soy wax candle?
Wooden wick producing smoke?
This is a natural occurrence due to different cooling rates of the hot wax and does not affect the candle's performance. Rough tops are a positive indication that soy wax is not mixed with other waxes or additives.
This is an indication that it is time to trim the wick. Extinguish the flame and allow candle to cool. Once cooled, trim wick to 1/4" using wick trimmers or fingers and relight.
Burn candle for 2-4 hours each use, allowing wax to melt to edges of vessel.
Trim wick to 1/4'' before each use, except first use.
Keep candle on heat resistant surface away from pets, drafts, and children.
Never leave candle unattended or burning for more than 4 hours.
Follow these steps to ensure a proper and safe burning candle

Discontinue use once 1/2'' of wax remains in vessel.
Soot at the top of concrete vessel?
Soot at the top of a candle vessel is not uncommon and does not affect the candle's performance. Soot is produced when the flame is too high, the candle has been burning for a few hours, or the wax is closer to the bottom of the vessel. To reduce the amount of soot build-up, trim wick to 1/4'' before each burn, don't burn longer than 4 hours, keep away from drafts, and discontinue use when wax reaches 1/2''.
